What this is

MicroArcade is a collection of 40 short browser games for the two minutes between one task and the next. There is no storyline to follow, no account to create, no daily reward to come back for, and nothing to buy. You open a game, poke at it, and close the tab. That is the entire loop.

The catalogue covers four kinds of small ideas:

🫧 Zen & ASMRBubble wrap, sand drawing, breathing orb, lava lamp — repetitive, tactile, no fail state.
👆 Clicker & IdleFruit merging, tile matching, mining, cookie empires, reaction and CPS tests.
🫥 Words & WeirdExcuse generators, corporate jargon, absurd either-or questions, tiny life simulators.
🧩 Puzzle & Brain2048, minesweeper, memory, Stroop effect, sliding tiles, find the odd one out.

How it works

Every game is plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript. There is no engine, no framework, no build step and no CDN. Sound effects are synthesised in the browser with the Web Audio API. High scores, favorites and settings are kept in your browser's local storage under the mg.* namespace and are never transmitted anywhere.

Because the whole site is static files, it works on a phone, a locked-down office laptop, an intranet share or a USB stick. It also loads fast on a poor connection, and it keeps working if the network drops after the first page load.

Why "AI-generated"

The game code, level data, word lists and this site's copy were produced with AI assistance, then reviewed, wired into a shared runtime and tested by hand. That describes the production method, not the runtime: no model is called while you play, there is no API key in the page, and no prompt or gameplay data leaves your device. Each game was checked for real input, real state changes and a real result — no placeholders, no "coming soon" cards.

Advertising and the private edition

The public site is supported by display advertising. When ads are active, Google AdSense and its partners may set cookies to serve ads; see the Privacy Policy for opt-outs and regional consent. There is no paywall, no rewarded-video gate and no advertising inside a game board.

Organisations that want a clean internal version can license the private edition: ad-free, rebranded, with a boss key that disguises the page as a spreadsheet. That edition loads no third-party scripts at all.
